ENGINEERING: THE SIDE PATH

India is the largest producer of engineers in the world.  But how many of them are real engineers? I mean to say how many of them are practically into it? Engineering has become a part time course in the country. 3 quarters of the engineers produced in the country are either into software jobs or go to do their M.S or do their M.B.A. I am not against the M.S or M.B.A part. It is fine if one relates his higher studies to his undergraduation. But how many are doing the same?
It is advisable to students who are into engineering to take the course in which they are interested and go forward in the same path. As aamir khan says in the movie 3 idiots we are not here for a profit and loss job but to make the world a better place to live in.
