ITS ABOUT YOU

This post is dedicated to all my wonderful friends who have always been my strength. This is for each one of you who have made my life colourful.
Who is a true friend? We have several proverbs and have forwarded and received many messages in relation to this. I am not writing this post to talk about that. I just want to say that we don't need a friendship day. And everybody will nod when i say that when one is with his friend that day can be a friendship day. I have celebrated several such days with you and will be happy to continue this in the future.
LOVE YOU ALL.

VINNAI THANDI VARUVAYA

One of the most expected combination of A.R.Rahaman and Gautam Menon turned out to be a nightmare. Simbu doesn’t know what reaction is all about. Though Trisha looked gorgeous in the movie she could have acted better. The timing and the picturisation of songs weren’t proper. The BGMs were irrelevant at certain places. The frequent patch and break up of the hero and the heroine is an irritation. OVERALL: VTV not as expected. Narendran’s rating: 2 stars.

MY NAME IS KHAN

What to say, they(karan johar, sharukh, kajol) are just the BEST. One of the best movies in the history of Indian cinema which focuses on national integration and world peace. Hats off to Sharukh. Kajol has done her part well too. The music by SEL is mind blowing. The song ‘WE SHALL OVER COME’ and the dialogue ‘MY NAME IS KHAN AND I AM NOT A TERRORIST’ brings tears to our eyes. A deeper insight into the movie shows the harm done by George.W.Bush and how it was changed by Barrack Obama. Every part of the movie including the comedy was covered in the movie. Locations were brilliant(No need to tell) and picturisation of the songs were marvellous. OVERALL: MNIK:very different from a typical Shraukh movie. Narendran’s rating: 4.5 star.

JUST 1411 LEFT

Our national animal is fighting for its life.

From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.

If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.

Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.

Aircel has partnered with WWF-India to help save our tigers. Explore the site to know how you can help.

ROAD TO COPENHAGEN, ROAD TO SUSTAINITY

‘Ours is not a reasonable stance. It is based on our world view that the whole world is a family, and our principles of inclusive growth and measurement’.
-Manmohan Singh
The Copenhagen summit happens to be an advent in the adversity. It is an eye- opener for all of us who have who have been the cause of the exploitation of mother ‘EARTH’ and seen the Newton’s 3rd law. It is not only the responsibility of the 194 big shots of the world to introduce and follow reforms, every individual has a part to play. Let us not think us an individual, not us a country but as a family, the homosapien family.
According to a recent survey, if we use our coal reserves in the same way, within four years the coal and petroleum resources in our natural home would have perished. The temperature of the earth is increasing at the rate of 4C per year. Due to this the ice caps are all melting at a faster rate. As a consequence of this by the end of the next decade three quarters of the earth would have submerged. If this situation continues by the end of 2040 this planet would be MERCURY-2.
As the proverb goes ‘Little drops of water makes up the mighty ocean’ we can all follow certain small steps which can affect the environment at large.
• Switch off all the lights and fans wherever unnecessary.
• Never put the computer in sleep mode. It consumes more power than when it is working.
• Never overcharge mobile phones or laptops. It is a source of inorganic waste.
• Avoid littering in public places.
• Planting of more trees wherever possible.
• Use of public transport is always a better option.
• Educating people about the proper use of resources.
• Suggest methods and devices which can reduce excessive consumption of energy.
